Plaster formicarium - videotutorial

Hi everyone

In few last days I was making new plaster nest for my ants (Chthonolasius). I had the idea to make Videotutorial by the way. Is in polish, but in the important points there are english captions.

Two glass - why? (condensation or better work with preparation nest...). The nest will be open or close?

Really nice work. Two glasses are probably for easily deinstalling nest. In fact, it is not so good at all when you do with two glasses - air conditioning (fresh air change) is very limited then. Perhaps ants may help with air change but it is difficult. When only aquarium glass is used as cover, air comes by hole btw glass and nest easier.
Work with clay is fine, I will try it, can I use my garden clay too?

I have to make new nest for Prenolepis nitens, maybe they will be my testing rabbits for this.

I´ve enjoyed all the bla bla bla and kaboom stuff! LOL

Hi again, sorry for the delay

Skippy is right, two glasses are for easily deinstalling nest (for ex. to transfer nest to bigger aquarium)/ I think that this two entrances (or more if U want) can help with poor air exchange. Now ants are sitting in middle chambers

In this project i use "natural artistic cla", but earlier I used clay from the ground (clay was in the jar for a year, i forgot about her )

This small magnets works not good at all because of this two glass (ca. 5 mm..). It's "power" is too small.
